Cikgu Oh Cikgu

It's school time again!
Im feeling excited and maybe a little sad (little ye.tak macam di suatu hari itu.haha)that holiday is over
Some students feel nervous or a little scared on the first day of school because of all the new things.
Baju baru,buku baru,beg baru,cikgu lama yang tak pindah-pindah pon ada lgi.KAH KAH KAH.
Luckily,these new worries only stick around for a little while.Nanti semua budak akan tunjuk perangai yang aneh-aneh.huahuahua
4 Januari 2010,bermulalah my life as a teacher.
I'm still remember my first year of teaching and all the questions i had.
Bagaimana la 2nd year of teaching kali ini.

• How do i survive my second year of teaching?
• Will my student like me as a counsellor?
• How can i control my client,principal.teachers,emotion,feel and so on
  
• Agaknya,dapat transfer tak this year?huhu

Mungkin these are all good signs and normal questions for new teacher like me.
New teachers usually leave the profession with in their first 5 years.I'm still in it and you can stay in it too(kalau anda bercita-cita jadi cikgu gak la)
So,kene kuat untuk bertahan at least 5years more.

Meeting staf semalam bukanlah dianggap sebagai permulaan 2010 yang ceria.Nasib la permulaan registration hari ini agak menceriakan.Walaupun suam-suam air suam seperti last year.Boleh la dikatakan keceriaan dalam kesederhanaan.
Seperti biasa,saya akan bercakap seperti ayam dan itik apabila parents semuanya berjako iban.Paham,tapi nak balas balik itu yang susah. :)
Nanti jadi salah paham pula.

Maka esok bermula la kesibukkan bekerja.I will probably not get to do all the things done i want to get done in one day.Aku tau tu.huhu

So, what shoul I do?

• Usually the first week is mean for me to do ice breaker activities and get to known the student.Tonite dah start ice breaking untuk Orientasi Form 1.
• I usually have a student answer a short questionnaire answering questions.Tapi tak la tanya yang pelik-pelik.Soalan kebiasaan tahap rendah je macam favourite food,siblings,hobbbies.Kalau tahap up sket tanya la what they want to learn about in my class.Mesti boleh dikira bilangan patah perkataan yang dijawabnya.
• Share something about myself (in a slideshow maybe..haha..tak mungkin berlaku tu)to let them get to know me.I find these to be very good relationship builders with students
• At the end of every day,reflect on what went well and what i would've changed about the lesson or the day
• Don't be to hard on myself.Just feeling good on day one
• erm..banyak la i nak buat.Banyak sebab ini tugasan setahun.Bukan untuk esok je.huhu
  

Selamat bekerja untuk diri sendiri!
I'm promise to be a good counsellor which is always striving to improve ,so that's a good sign.
School is fun:)
